Castor Oil For Hair Loss
Facts And Benefits
To Grow Hair

Castor oil for hair loss can help many people who are suffering from female hair loss on their heads, eyebrows and eyelashes if used correctly.

In this article I will explain the full hair benefits of castor oil and how to use this precious amazing oil to get the best results possible for hair growth.

What Is Castor Oil

Castor oil is a very heavy duty oil derived from beans called castor beans. The oil is a type of vegetable oil that is very light pale yellow in color.

Benefits Of Castor Oil For Hair Loss

Castor oil for hair loss has many positive properties to help regrow hair:

  • anti-bacterial
  • high in vitamin E
  • anti-fungal
  • protein
  • fatty acids such as omega-6 & omega-9
  • high in ricinoleic fatty acid
  • moisturizing
  • fights inflammation
  • helps relieve rashes on the skin
  • known to grow hair and eyelashes
  • balances scalps pH balance, that helps provide a healthy scalp

Castor oil for hair loss is known to accelerate the speed of the hair growth process between 3 to 5 times faster than what's normally usual in hair growth.

There are no studies or scientific evidence shown that castor oil works in hair growth. Although doctor Rachel Nazarian, MD, of Schweiger Dermatology Group in NYC, says that castor oil can in fact be useful in certain cases of hair loss due to it's powerful proteins, fatty acids, vitamins and antioxidants when rubbed on the scalp.

Side Effects Of Castor Oil

Side effects of using castor oil should be noted can happen when eating or drinking the oil in your body, doing so may cause the following issues:

  • stomach cramps
  • nausea
  • fainting
  • dizziness
  • hallucinations
  • chest pain
  • shortness of breath
  • tightness of throat

What Castor Oil For Hair Loss Is The Best To Use?

"Unrefined castor oil" for hair loss is the best one to use to get proper hair growth.

Stay away from refined castor oil because if the castor oil is refined that usually means that the oil was heated and processed which takes away the full amount of vitamins and beneficial properties inside of the oil and you will not get the full benefits of this great hair growth oil.

How To Use Castor Oil For Hair Loss

Place castor oil on the hair and scalp to help with hair growth after dealing with hair loss.

When using castor oil for hair loss regrowth you want to make sure that you do not put too much on your scalp and hair or you can end up causing your hair to tangle which can be so difficult to get out that you might have to cut into your hair knot with scissors in order to get out the knot effectively.

If you need to grow your eyelashes, I would just put a little bit on the lashes and outer lash line, basically a tad will do ya, because you do not want castor oil in your eyes. Doing so might cause a minor stinging sensation on the inside of your eyes. So please be careful and remember less is more!

Causes Of Hair Loss In Women

The cause of hair loss in women can be for different reasons.

About 40% of women will experience hair loss by the age of 40 and yet even more percentages of women will experience hair loss after that due to menopause hair loss.

Reasons for hair loss can be possibly hormonal changes in the body after having a baby called post pregnancy hair loss, after experiencing chemotherapy, itchy scalp from issues such as scalp psoriasis or more.

See a fuller list of hair loss causes in women here.

Over the counter hair loss treatments for women might have minoxidil in it, which might not work for everyone due to the harsh side effects such as:

  • skin rashes and dizziness

Castor oil is a plus to use for hair loss regrowth because of the product being 100% natural.

So it might be best to give castor oil for hair loss a try due to no side effects shown when used topically. Although it's best to do an allergy skin test first.

The 24 Hour Allergy Skin Test:

An allergy skin test is done when you place a little bit of the product (in this case castor oil) on the inside of your arm such as the inside of your elbow and wait 24 hours to see if your skin had a negative reaction or no reaction at all when using the product. A no-reaction or positive reaction is what you want and are looking to achieve.

After your 24 hour allergy skin test is complete and if there is no negative reaction you are free to try the product on the desired area of your body to achieve the results you are looking for.

Allergic reactions are usually unheard of when using castor oil topically on top of the skin for hair loss growth.

My Experience With Castor Oil For Hair Growth

I usually have to shampoo my hair twice after using my castor oil treatment because even though I use a little bit, my hair soaks it up because I have dry hair without it.

The oil is heavier than most but it is also a great oil for hair growth and creating hair thickness too.

I love castor oil and that is why I use it weekly!
