1.) Medications

Medication is a cause for hair loss in teenage girls such as from the medication Metoprolol.

Other types of medications young girls might be taking that may cause hair loss could be from acne medications, medications to treat ADHD and birth control pills. If your teen girl is taking any of these prescription medications or other types of medication drugs, this could very well be the cause for the hair loss that she is currently experiencing.

2.) Over Hair Styling

Over hair styling causes severe breakage and hair loss thinning at the roots, med shaft to ends of the hair shaft.

This is caused by getting chemical services done on your hair too often such as from perms, bleaching, or coloring the hair or by over processing the hair from using heated styling tools daily such as with a flat iron, curling iron or even hot rollers.

Androgenic hair loss is where you will start to see female pattern hair loss  in your teen years. Androgenic hair loss will usually start to thin at the top center of the scalp area and then start thinning all over the scalp.

Androgenic hair loss is considered genetic, but the good news is that it's treatable for most females.
