The oil is taken from a fat pad which is located along the back of the emu in the body cavity. The fat is taken and vacuum sealed and sent to a USDA facility to be further distributed.

This happens when the emu is about 12 to 16 months old.

Causes Of Hair Loss

The over the counter hair loss treatment minoxidil which is the main ingredient in rogaine may help some people to obtain their hair growth although people are reluctant to use this over the counter treatment due to the varied side effects and health concerns that they may receive such as rashes and dizziness.

There are many reasons for hair loss to occur such as hormonal hair loss causes, diabetes hair loss, medication use hair loss, stressed hair loss, improper nutrition and vitamin deficiency to name just a few hair loss causes.

Emu Oil Hair Loss Study For Regrowth

A study was performed by Dr. Micheal Hollick PhD. from The School Of Medicine at Boston University.

The study concluded that applying emu oil to the scalp resulted in a 20% hair growth increase to hair follicles that were stagnate and plus he also noticed that the scalp's skin was also thicker resulting in skin thickness and hair growth.

The reason for these results is due to the increased blood flow the emu oil helps with on the scalp when emu oil was applied topically. The blood flow produces more nutrients and oxygen to the hair follicles which in turn helps give healthier hair growth and skin nurturing results.

Emu Oil Tips & Which Emu Oil Should You Buy?

The best emu oil to buy is "unrefined".

Stay away from refined emu oil. If you get refined emu oil that means it is cooked and processed and when any oil is processed the purest vitamins will be gone.

Unrefined emu oil is best to look for in your purchase to ensure that all of the benefits you want will be in your emu oil and then on your skin when applied onto the skin.

Unrefined emu oil is pricier but well worth it in my opinion!

If you buy a cheap emu oil that is refined and mixed with other ingredients you might not see the top results you are looking for and get discouraged that it didn't work as well.

So look for "100% unrefined emu oil" on the label to get all the benefits listed on this page above.
